Yvan Bernard and Les Chemins de l'Arkose represent a vibrant and passionate story of winemaking, deeply rooted in the volcanic soils and heritage of the Auvergne region. Yvan, a charismatic figure with a love of rugby and the land, embodies the spirit of this central French region.

Preservation and advocacy: Yvan has been a strong advocate for maintaining economic activity in the region, fighting the depopulation trends that began in the 1950s.

Cultural identity: The labels have long reflected the political and cultural heritage of the region, with slogans such as "Volem vire al païs" and more recent expressions such as "Banlieue Rouge", demonstrating the winery's connection to its community.

The evolution of winemaking

Establishment: Yvan Bernard began winemaking in 2001 after studying at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune, initially renting small plots in Corent, Boudes, Montpeyroux, Authezat and La Sauvetat.

Expansion and collaboration: In 2020, Audrey Baldassin became a partner, renaming the project Les Chemins de l'Arkose and expanding the vineyard to 11 hectares in Montpeyroux, Puy de Corent and Blanzat.

Volcanic ash, clay-limestone, limestone with basalt and granitic arkose at an altitude of 450-500 metres.

This diverse terroir imparts a unique minerality and complexity to the wines.

Organic and biodynamic practices:

Certified organic since 2010.

Demeter biodynamic certification in 2021.

Collaboration with local organic growers underlines their commitment to sustainable practices.
