Curati Vinho Fizei Tinto 2023

This 100% Castelão wine comes from 20 year old vines in the Alenquer area and is harvested by hand. It undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open-top barrels, with minimal use of sulphur. The crushed and destemmed grapes ferment and age in the same barrels, completing both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. A further 6 months of ageing on the skins follows in the barrel, after which the wine is bottled with light filtration, without stabilisation, to allow for the possible formation of natural sediment.

Bright red in colour, its initial aromas are reminiscent of olives, evolving into intense notes of jam and wild berries. On the palate, the barrel tannins are harmoniously integrated, creating a balance between fruit and wood. Ideal with game dishes, it's best served at 16-18ºC after opening one hour before.
