Antonio Madeira Vinhas Velhas Tinto represents an organic field blend comprising approximately 20 grape varieties, prominently featuring Jaen (Mencía), Baga, Tinta Amarela, and Negro Mouro. These grapes are meticulously hand-harvested from granite-based soils, sourced from a selection of old vines dating back to between 1919 and 1969.

The winemaking process begins with spontaneous fermentation in open-top upright wooden vats, allowing for a natural and expressive transformation of the grape juice. Subsequently, the wine is transferred to used 225L barrels, where it ages for 18 months, imparting complexity and depth. Following this period, the wine spends an additional three months in tanks before being bottled without fining or filtration, with only minimal sulphur added.
