Domaine Armand Rousseau
Gevrey-Chambertin · domaine founded 1909

Armand Rousseau founded the domaine in Gevrey-Chambertin in 1909 and was among the first growers in Burgundy to bottle and sell under his own name rather than through the négoce. His son Charles took over in 1959, then Eric; today the domaine is run by Cyrielle Rousseau, the fourth generation.
Around fifteen hectares, almost all of it grand and premier cru in Gevrey-Chambertin: Chambertin, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Mazis-Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes, the premier cru Clos Saint-Jacques, and Clos de la Roche in Morey-Saint-Denis. The method has barely changed in decades: partial whole-cluster fermentation, new oak reserved for the three top wines, long élevage before release.
Allocations are small and have not grown. The wines reach the market through a handful of importers, and the grands crus, Chambertin and Clos de Bèze above all, are now traded case by case rather than offered. We hold full cases with documented provenance, in bond in France or in our Lisbon cellar, and source specific vintages on request.
